50cl Fles van Café Brecht. Kastanjebruine kleur, beige kraag. Moutig, caramel, ruikt redelijk zoet, bruine suiker, licht fruitig, smaak volgt, hint van noten, vijgen, roggebrood, degelijk bittere finish. Lichte body. Degelijke Dunkel.
Clear brown with an off white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, light chocolate notes and soft herbs. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with light carbonation.
Lovely toffee, licorice and coffeearoma. Sweet and malty flavor with some mango fruitiness, caramel and chichorei. Just a bit thin and sticky.
licht caramel bruin met lichte kraag, aroma van caramel, bruine suiker, rozijn, en ander donker fruit, kandy, mout, smaken zijn redelijk zoet, weeïg, zacht, moutig, gebrande mout, caramel, gestacheld bier, noten, ok, zwak tot matige body, iets meer smaak dan 't standaard Duitse aanbod --- Beer merged from original tick of Kloster Dunkel on 13 Dec 2018 at 20:15 - Score: 6. 50cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Brown with an off-white head. Dark malty aroma. Sweet taste. Tasty dunkel but nothing spectacular.
Tap. Clear amber color with off-white head. Aroma is rusty nail, grainy, earthy. Taste is bready, chocolate, dry finish with a finish that is a touch mineralic. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Solid Dunkles.
Bottle @ home. Clear autumnal dark red-brown color with a small off-white to beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, caramel, brown malts. Taste malts, brown malts, a hint of leaves, a bit sweet and some malt bitter at the same time.
Sampled @ Weisses Brauhaus, Starkbierzeit 2016. Savany-édes, közepesen testes, mégis eltelítő, de azért a várakozásokhoz képest gyengécske.
500ml in my hotel room (Berlin) late on 22nd Jan 2016. Poured a clear dark brown with an off-white crown. Aroma was of malts, caramel and toffee on toast. Flavour wise it is malty molasses sweet, yet there is a mild calming depth from an undercurrent of hop bitterness. Nice.
