A rum BA Imperial Stout.

Taste: An explosion of sweet, overripe banana plucked straight from the fruit bowl mixes with hints of coffee and sweet Caribbean rum all layered on top of a smooth malt base. Oaky tannins and just a hint of lingering hoppy bitterness joins in, leaving you with an insanely decadent, dessert like finish.

Appearance: Jet black with a dark brown head.

Nose: Sweet freshly baked chocolate banana bread, fruity aged rum and molasses mix with subtle hints of smoke and foam banana sweets. Caramelised bananas foster and hints of warming mixed spice lure you into your first sip.

Thanks Jinroh for sharing! Taster showing dark brown with sparse latte colored foam.

The nose shows light notes of smoke and roasted malt.

The palate is lightly carbonated and full bodied. Banana forward throughout with a moderate sweetness.

BD 290921. Black, small tan head. Smells banana candy, some rum, slight savory note. Not thick, but lovely smooth, very soft, tiny boozyness at the end. Taste is sweet banana candy first, some chocolate. Then herbal rum, bit leathery. Ends slightly smoky.

33cl bottle bought at the brewery. Pours pitch black with a quite modest, beige head. Immediate smell of chocolate and bananas - does actually remind me of those chocolate covered yellow foamy candy bananas at first, but fortunately it gets more complex. Notes of rum, vanilla and dark dried fruits too. Warming alcohol, quite well integrated, but still noticeable. Rather smooth, desserty and surprisingly easy to drink. Was afraid that it might be a sweet mess, but this was actually quite enjoyable.

13/XI/21 - sample @ Billies Craft Beer Festival Day 2 (Waagnatie, Antwerp), BB: n/a (2021-1412) Thanks to the Brewver crew and other beer buddies for sharing today’s beers!

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: ok, that’s banana alright, lots of dark chocolate, roasted, yeasty, malty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of alcohol, all ripe banana, banana flavoured candy, dark chocolate with liquid banana filling, sugary, caramel. Aftertaste: soft roast, banana liqueur, sugary, sweet, dark caramel, more banana, very boozy, lots of alcohol.
