Tap at the Santa Cruz Taproom. Roasty nose, dark chocolate, coffee. Pitch black pour. Creamy flavor, nice chocolate sweetness then turns to a dry, roasty finish. Solid.
Growler at the Mar Claire. Pours black with medium tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, nuts. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, nice bitter roast finish, very good.
Draught at Sante Adairius. Opaque black liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of coffee, light ash, toast, light smoke, toffee and raw sugar. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of coffee, chocolate and raw sugar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.
On tap at the brewery. Brown color with tan ring. Roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee. Taste is sorta sweet, but dry bitter chocolate as well, but milk chocolate in there as well. A very nice Porter!
Growler - Dark roasty notes. Deep maroon with a beige head. Lots of toasted malts and some cocoa. Decent.
Pretty black in the glass. Head is frothy almost with specks of white and brown. Creamy almost. Stale espresso beans, milk and Oreos. Very toasty throughout. Taste is very toasty. Mineral like mouthfeel. Coffee exploded in the middle and finishes long and smooth. Minor sweetness. Cocoa cookies. Very drinkable porter but very hard to drink a lot of it.
