The blackest black IPA we’ve ever brewed is surprisingly light and smooth - dehusked Carafa Special III malt keeps roast and astringency to a minimum - providing a mellow platform for Idaho 7 and Sabro’s cocktail of pineapple, young coconut, and lime. 240g/l of fresh pineapple split between mid and post-fermentation amps up the tropical notes of the hops and keeps the fruit flavour and aroma vibrant.

Dark brown, light brown head. Smell is sweet, Sabro coconut, light mango. Very soft, good thickness. Taste is sweet, almost cake-like. Good bitter at the end. Coconut, soft yellow fruit. Could do with some roast, but tasty enough. Amazing can art.

440ml. can. @home, 31/12/2021 [#4.669 Global - #500 England - #62 Northern Monk] Pours murky dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma: Soft coconut, dark berries and chocolate. Taste: berries jam, pineapple, mango and dark chocolate. So fruity, probably too much for the style. Next one please!

440ml can. Very dark brown, thin tan head. Aroma of pineapple, mild coconut, mild chocolate. Taste is very fruity, tons of pineapple, some Sabro coconut, back ground chocolate/dark malts, no roast. Medium bodied. Decent BIPA, but far too much pineapple, a bit out of balance due to that.
