Head reduced to rim in seconds; dirty mossy-copper beer. Liqueurish nose, nuts, alcohol, vineleaf, cognac, nougatbar. Sweet, again quite nutty, caramel, toffee, liqueur-filled bar. Nearly syrupy but still drinkable. Bitter almonds warming up. Low carbonation, slick, sticky. More than medium bodied. Bit weird all the same. Saison my *ss, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. Txs to Stef!
Pours very dark, cloudy amber. Small to no white head. Scent is very glue-like, cognac barrel is recognizable. Some malts. Taste is sharp, aged malts. Mild bitterness. Tad fruity, cognac. Bit of an 'unfresh' raw grainyness. Not perfectly balanced to me, but still OK.
