Son arôme est unique et ceci dû à un mix assez exceptionnel de malts. Son goût est un délice au palais comme au nez et elle laisse un souvenir inoubliable.

Pours clear dark brown with a red hue and an unstable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of banana, raisin, caramel, faint butter, red apple, cake filling. Taste has sweet banana, apple & plum with a buttery edge, but not too disturbing actually, solid bready & caramelly maltiness with a bitter herbal accent. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering banana candy, soft nuttiness & brown rum-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Not technically flawless but could almost count as a Scotch-like due to the buttery aspects.

Tap, Café Het Pleintje, Hengelo. Surprisingly light colored for "brune". Herbal bitter, slightly buttery flavor. Hint of licorice. Some apple and cherry fruit well hidden behind the intense bitterness. Long bitter finish.

Bottle at home. Pours clear, dark amber ( the hell... ? it’s called brown, all I expected was for it to be... Nevermind ) under a small white head. Smell is bit sweet, thin. Taste is weak, sweet, very thin, dark candy Sugar, wattery, damn sweet though ( the taste isn’t intense, but it sure is one-dimentional) I had low expectations, but this one didn’t even match them. Weak mf , and low ( too low ) carbo.

The dark one in this small series taken over from Tennstedt-Decroes, with deep bronze colour and thin off-white head; caramelly main character, lots of fruity esters, some candi sweetness, spicy yeastiness, creamy mouthfeel with soft carbo and herbal finish with some warming alcohol and retronasal spiciness. Acceptable but I prefered the blond version.
