Pol’s sweet stout, like his other beers only available at the premises, in 75 cl bottles. With added lactose. Creamy, stable, light beige, sticky head, very dark burgundy colour, blackish but not really black, hazy. Aroma of milk sugar, coffee with milk, milk chocolate, cocoa, raisins, some red cabbage and also something vaguely sulphuric. Soft mouthfeel, sweetish and chocolatey, smooth, dryish finish with very light roasted bitterness, as is custom in this traditional but underrated style - of which this is a more than decent example.
At modeste 14 . Pours black , good grey head . Smell is milkchocolate . Taste is milkchocolate , bit coffee , bit thin mouthfeel . Npt so sweet . Bit bitter . Watery . Ok .

6/X/2012 - 75cl bottle @ Modeste Bierfestival (Antwerpen) - BB: n/a (2012-1112)
Clear dark brown beer, aery off-white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, caramel, fudge, dried fruits, chocolate, hint of mocha, little earthy, alcohol. MF: ok carbon, medium bdoy. Taste: some dried fruits, caramel, mocha, pretty bitter, little sourish touch. Aftertaste: dry and hoppy, some dark chocolate, alcohol is pretty noticeable.
Very creamy head with a little greyish sheen, fluffy, over dark brown beer with reddish reflections. Nuts and sesame oil, very markedly; soy saus, suggesting mild sweetness. Dry, charcoal-like, spinach, and a marked finish of liquorice. Ends on sweetish lactic. Medium bodied, slick. I like this, the more as milk stout counts as an endangered species. I caught the lactose, but not the cacao powder.
