Bottle. Dark brown. Light smoke and roasted malts, blackberries, red currants, a hint of coconut and bitter grassy notes. Underneath the earthy malts and fruits there’s soft funk and light spices. Medium sour, less sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Nice, but I prefer the blond Nevel beers.
Glass from tap at de Kluizenaar, done slightly from memory, dark almost black beer, small head. Aroma is tart, malt, fruit hint of chocolate. Taste is the same, fruit, tart, dry, easy to drink.
