17 August 2022. At Hotel Columbo, Gent. Cheers to Jan, Johan & the quiz crew!

Hazy golden, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of peach, golden raisin, pear, ripe apple, cheese rinds, wet pepper, bread crust, brandy. Taste has sweet peach, pear & pineapple over a honeyish, bready malt base with spicy clove notes. Dry, bitter, peppery hoppy finish, quite spicy, lingering ripe fruits, dry yeast and warming brandy-like alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Indeed as indicated on the label no sourness and that in itself, coming from Alvinne, is a surprise. Very elegant and balanced.

3/VIII/22 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ France Holiday, BB: I/2024, lot: 21.1208 (2022-966)

A little cloudy blond to orange beer, big creamy solid off-white to cream coloured head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, a bit oxidized, honey, sweet impression, caramel notes, bread, some raisins, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice bitter start, a little oxidized, lots of alcohol, dry impression, spicy, more alcohol, a little sticky. Aftertaste: dry, a bit malty, hay, pretty bitter, hoppy, good stuff, nice one!

Bottle. Clear dark golden. Sweet wheat, marzipan, very herbal with eucalyptus, grassy, floral… Quite sweet and intense bitter. Full bodied. Not amazing, but still OK, really bitter though.
