Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy black, quickly thinning, beige head. Aroma of carrot cake, pumpkin pie (by association), brownie, chocolate sauce, cinnamon, clove, vanilla custard, coffee liqueur. Taste has sweet pear & raisin in a malt body of chocolate, brownie & pie with fitting spicy notes. Herbal hoppy finish, bit peppery, lingering carrot cake, chocolate sauce & some coffee roast, dash of warming liqueur-like alcohol. Medium to full body, thin oily texture, average carbonation. Typical Prairie fun, but not too bad actually.
Bottle, shared by Max. Pours black. Cream cheese, sweet, cloves, cinnamon, earthy, chocolate, light lemon. Medium body. Very nice.
The aromas are carrot cake stout– not sure that it actually works. Well, in the flavors it kind of does work. Never would have guessed it. Subdued and easy drinking not overly sweet well-balanced. Decent strange but good.
