Bottle. Almost black. Malt, caramel and dominant mint in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet, licorice, roast, white pepper. Not unpleasant, but not my cup of tea.
Bottle at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is after eight mint chocolates, mint, chocolate. Taste is surprisingly not overwhelming in mint, its subtle. Taste is mint, chocolate, bitter dry, nice one.
Bottle (a little past the best before date) @ home. Black colour with a medium sized beige head. Smells After Eight chocolates, mint, chocolate, sweet, toothpaste. Tastes After Eight chocolates, minty, chocolate, cocoa. I actually like it. I'm pretty surprised by that. I didn't think I would like a liquid After Eight. That's why the bottle survived past the best before date. Medium body, nice carbo.
0.33 l bottle from ’Speciaalbierpakket.nl’, bottled in January 2017. Black with a large, dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and rather herbal-spicy aroma of dark chocolate, lots of mint and licorice. Moderately sweet, malty, quite roasty, very herbal-spicy taste of dark chocolate, licorice, some coffee and lots of mint, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry and herbal-spicy finish. Medium body, very effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Quite tasty actually, not well-balanced at all though. It’s basically liquid After Eight with way too much carbonation again.
Bottle. Black pour. Aroma is like after eight, with mint, chocolate and some red fruit. Taste has licorice, salmiak, a sharp flash of mint and some sweet caramelised malt. Weird and not very enjoyable.
