Can from Delhaize at Dok Noord. Hazy yellow, stable, frothy, white head. Aroma of mandarin peel, yellow grapefruit, unripe pineapple, grass, white pepper, bread crust. Taste has sweetish mandarin & apple, sourish citrus zest and spicy, yeast notes in a dry-bready malt body. Dry, bitter, grassy hoppy finish, slightly herbal & grapefruity but not outspoken aromatic. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Straightforward bitter Ale; okay.
21/VII/22 - on tap, shared @ DOK Brewing Company (Gent), BB: n/a (2022-907)
Clear yellow beer, big creamy bit irregular white head, unstable, falls down quickly. Aroma: fruity notes, tropical fruits, juicy, floral, nice stuff, MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: a little bitter, fruity, soapy bitterness, floral notes, a bit dry, ok. Aftertaste: a bit fruity, watery, bitter, hay, a bit grassy, some citrus.
New single hop ISA by Dok, sampled at Hal 16. Snow white, frothy, moussy, stable head, misty yellow blonde robe with beige-ish tinge. Aroma of nettle cheese, wood bluegrass, freshly cut thistles, bread crust, raw white cabbage, straw, something sulfuric (freshly lit matches). Crisp, very fizzy onset, very minerally, clean with some green banana and apple peel notes, supple cereally maltiness with grainy edges, adequately bittered by very grassy, bit weedy and floral hoppiness, wood bluegrass again, raw spinach leaf even, bit resinous and long-stretched. Feels more like a Belgian bitter blonde than anything truly IPA, but it does perform well as an easygoing, not too demanding, quaffable thirst quencher.
