Pastry stout by this renowned Greek microbrewery (on the isle of Corfu). Some loose greyish beige bubbles but very tiny and unstable, jet black robe. Intense aroma of both fresh coconut flakes and Bounty candy, wet leather, bitter black chocolate, thick fudge, treacle, espresso, wet toast, black olives. Sweet onset, a bit cloying in fact, fig syrup and blackberry compote, with a black olive-ish umami accent somewhere; soft carb, full and syrupy mouthfeel. Toffeeish and dark-chocolatey core with roasted walnut bitterness around the edge, turning very espresso-like in the end but more aromatically than in actual roasted bitterness, clearly unveiling the presence of actual coffee being used here. Just before it evolves into dominance, the coconut appears, in a very convincing, candy-like way but also in a fresh kind of way (rather unusually so in coconut stouts). Spicy hops and warming, brandy-like alcohol complete a rich, warming, desserty and definitely ‘wintery’ finish. Long-stretching, somewhat sticky, but very generous and well-made pastry stout.

Can at home. Opaque black color, small brown head. Aroma is quite intense and tough to analyze tbh. Fairly sweet up front. Malty a bit, but mostly sweetish. Label says pecan but I'm reminded of Tonka beans. Tonka with coconut. Hmm not really my thing tbh. Flavor has it too: malty a bit but heavy on the sweetish Tonka (or pecan??) beans / nutty and coconut. Hmm not really my kind of stout. The coffee -sadly enough- is definitely overpowered by the other flavors and aromas. Mwah.

200ml draught at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Pitch black body, shiny naked surface, scattered lacing. Promising aromas of nutty chocolate, mildly roasted. Coconuts up front to the taste buds, earthy chocolate malts beneath. Smooth malty sweetness to the ending, mid-dry. Some sipper qualities, just a bit too sweet. (Tromsø 25.05.2022).
