16oz can at share. Amber pour, cloudy, thin beige head. Malty aroma, as expected, caramel, toffee and plenty of bourbon barrel. Rich malty taste, woody, tobacco and more bourbon and its prerequisite heat. Smooth and strong.
Bottle from Holiday Market. Pours a clearish brown with a small bit of beige head that dissipates quickly. Prune, raisin, honey, oak and bourbon on the nose. Sweet on the palate with some mild oxidation present on the palate. Bitter citrus pith with lots of oaky bourbon and warming alcohol. Warming finish with sweet malt and bourbon, with bitter hops that linger.

2009 bottle, labeled as Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, from NickD717. Thanks!"," Dark brown color. Malt, oak, bourbon and a hint of dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet, oaky flavor with bourbon, orange liqour, earthy hops and dried figs. Well balanced yet very powerful. Yum!",!,
Bottle. Red bronze pour. Aroma of caramel fudge, delicious bourbon booze, vanilla, cherry, figs, caramelised malt and some coconut. Flavor of rich ripe red fruit, caramel fudge, raisin, figs, dates, bourbon booze, oaky vanilla and caramelised malt. How a bourbon ba barley wine should be, rich and decadent. Fantastic.
Opaque deep amber colour, small frothy off-white head, settles quickly to a thin layer.Aroma roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, oak, raisin. Taste heavy sweet and slightly bitter, malty, bourbon, oak, vanilla, toffee, dried fruits. Sweet and prickly mouthfeel, sweet aftertaste, almost no bitterness, alcohol, lingering roastiness. Full-bodied, oily to sticky texture, flat carbonation, rich and complex, but handle with care imo too boozy, only drinkable in small sips...
01-04-19 // taster at Protokoll Berlin Unclear amber orange. Boozy sweet nose. Heavy stuff. Warming booze. Sweet but not too sweet. Minimal bourbon. Some bitterness. Wood. Warming up more bourbon and booze.
