Swing top bottle. Opague, dark brown creamy head. Roasted malt and a hint of smoke and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty, medium to full bodied, very powerful porter. Loads of roast, hints of beechwood and cacao. Dark roasted espresso. Heavy stuff, although you really can’t taste much alcohol. 8 4 7 4 16 = 3.9 Can @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. The Old Swing top bottle version is history, so this one will count for the rating. Almost black and opague. Roast and apple syrup in the aroma and flavor. Roastbitter finish with some aluminium. Still quite OK, but in no way comparable to the ’old’ Olfabrikken.
Black, beige head. Aroma has licorice, coffee, cocoa-like boozy notes. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, almost chewie. Coffee, licorice and chocolate. Sweet with licorice bitterness and smooth, warming alcohol. 3 years past BBD but still (I guess) with all the flavours intact. Very nice. Thanks MiP.
Sweetish-Malty beginning. Intense malty with a very sticky sweetish body. Hints of sourness, intense sweetish with roasty coffee-like aroma. Sweetish-malty aftertaste, fresh but sticky, intense. Nice!
Black color with a tan head with short duration, medium lacing. Aroma with coffee notes, black chocolate, some ashes and roasted mals. Flavor is mild bittery with roasted and toasted malts, black coffee and chocolate, some licorice notes. LIght bitterness in the final with a slightly dry mouthfeel.
Bomber. About 2 years old. Sugary caramel and chocolate nose, raisins. Shiny black with a pretty brown lacy head. Wood, chocolate, soy flavors, coffee, well roasted and great balance. Nice fruity, tangy edge. Rather light in body. Very tasty.

Clear deep brown beer, irregular creamy small beige to brown head, bit adhesive, little stable. Aroma: lots of acaramel, alcohol, mocha, bit smoky, bit of dried fruits, cocoa powder, little dusty, coffee powder. MF: soft carbon, full body, bit oily texture. Taste: surprisingly sourish start, lots of coffee, cocoa powder, some caramel, sour red berries. Aftertaste: caramel, coffee, some citrus, hints of vanilla and some smoke, cooca powder, more coffee, dry hop bitterness and burnt toast in the end.
Bouteille 500ml.
Draught @ 3 Små Rum on November 19. 2008 vintage. Pours deep black with a creamy mocha head. smell is sweet with roasted malts, cereal, bitter chocolate and some sweet liquorice candy.
