Black, unstable brown head. Smell is heavy coffee, bit of green pepper, some roasty malts. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but does linger well. Taste has plenty of coffee, nicely roasty and bitter, with some light sweetness at the back. Damn good for its age.
Actual cask (!) @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival, July 2018. Pours black, cream-coloured head. Big chocolate nose, Taste presents thick layered coffee, dark malts, chocolate, port. Intense stuff and a delight to have from cask.
8 4 8 4 16 Draft at Uiltje Bar. Black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, toffee and roast. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
Draught @ Molen BrouwcafĂŠ. Black color. Dense beige to light brown head with long retention. Aroma's: Chokotoff, dark caramel, sweet coffee, dark chocolate. Retronasal it's dark toffee, caramel, sweet coffee. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, with light coffee sourness. Medium bodied. Long finish with roast, light sour, moderate bitter.
