14 October 2022. At Cloudcroft Brewing Company. Shared with the lovely Anke!
A: clear orange, thin, off-white head.
A: orange peel, mango, melon, biscuit.
T: sweetish mango, bitter orange peel, biscuity maltiness.
F: piney hops, pithy orange, bitter grapefruit.
P: medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation.
Just a solid IPA.
Can. Amber body. Off-white, frothy head. Aroma of toasted grain, grapefruit, caramel, light resin. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Taste of pine, grapefruit, caramel. Good balance.
Can. Deep copper with a white head. Light malt, sweet, pine. Medium to full body. Lingering sweet bitter finish. Nice.
Can. Orange, caramel malt, pine, and grapefruit peel aroma. Amber with large off-white head. Lightly sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter pine/grapefruit peel flavor. Body a bit light. Pretty good.
Can: Nearly clear copper-amber with a tall beige head. Caramel, pine aroma. Taste is mildly spicy pine, caramel malt, orange. Solid resiny, earthy bitter. Pretty nice.
355ml can. Pours hazy amber, big frothy white head. Aroma is fresh, zippy pine. Taste is musty pithy grapefruit, dried apricot, mushy banana skins, pine needles. Lacks freshness and clarity.
Can (thanks dwyerpg). Pours amber with whiteish head. Aroma is fruity, citrus, pineapple. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, citrus, pineapple. Finish is pine bitter. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: good.
Can from dwyerpg, many thanks! Pours slightly hazy amber with lasting white head. Aroma of toffee, pine and citrus. Slightly sweet, malty taste with some pine, citrus, grass and resin. Fairly short and lightly bitter finish.
Location: 12 oz can from Central Market, 8/19/13, New Mexico tick #1!
Aroma: The nose is caramel malts and pine/grapefruit hops, with some mild buttery notes
Appearance: A clear amber-orange color with a small white head and some sticky/streaky lace
Flavor: Tastes much the same, light sweet and a mid-plus bitterness, just a hint of "off" flavor
Palate: Medium body, with some stickiness, soft carbonation, good drinkability, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: It is not a bad one at all, but it's just a little off, and in this style, being a little off tends to but you on the lower end. I wanted to go higher as this is a nice, drinkable, canned IPA, with a solid hop profile, but it just feels a touch flawed...
