Bottle. Copper colour, small foamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is tea, some tar, smoke and mild sweet caramel malts. Flavour is quite much the same, but has some mild floral hoppiness too, which kind of clashes with the smoked tones.
Tap @ Borefts 2017. Golden color. Hints of smoke and bergamot in the aroma. Malty yet dry flavor with bergamot. Not bad at all.
0.33 l bottle from 'Rudat', bottled in September 2017. Clear, very dark reddish amber with a massive, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, malty, fairly smoky, gently fruity, slightly resiny and a bit herbal aroma of smoked ham, ice tea, peach, mango and some salt. Moderately sweet, quite smoky, rather fruity, gently resiny and just a little herbal taste of mango, peach, ice tea, smoked ham and a touch of pine, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, fairly smoky and a little herbal finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very nice smoked IPA, especially with the age of a whole year, don't get much of the Earl Grey though.
Gerookte caramel. Ongewone smaken.
Very interesting beer, not too heavy on the Earl Grey notes, more smoky. The mix of smoke with fruit is peculiar. Thanks Edo!
Smokey again. Not really Earl Grey, IMHO.
Draught @ 9th. BBF 2017 [ 9th Borefts Beer Festival 2017 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As De Molen Geuren & Kleuren ].Clear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, smoke, caramel, tea. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, tea, smoke, sweet malt, light caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170923] 7-3-7-3-15
Bottle (from SIP, ABV 7.8% or 7.9%). Street tick, so no idea how it looked. Aroma is smoke, bacon, hops, pine, citrus, tea. Flavor is sweet and bitter, bacon, hops, caramel, citrus, pine. Drinks well for ABV. Overall: ok, feels more like the good components, than good sum of them.
Bottled 330ml (Gonzo?)
Clear copper colour, small white beige head. Bottle was gusher. Strong tar, tea aroma. Medium-bodied. Tar, smoke and tea in the flavour. Much less IPA character. Kind of weird. Ok.
Should be categorised as a Smoked Beer. Clear red brown colour with lasting head. Aroma has some citrusy orange and just a hint of smoke. Flavour is very fruity and citrusy and reasonably sweet. There's a slightly savoury background smokiness throughout.
