Ghost whale. Super brett forward on the nose with some super savory notes. Kind of piney and woody with heavy berry notes
Bottle at Open Beer Days. Pours a gorgeous ruby with small pinkish head. The aroma is strong funk, oak, cherry skin, currant. Medium body, funky, currant, oak, cherry skin, nice tartness, dry finish, very nice.
Bottle. Pinkish red color. Red berries and tannines dominating the aroma and flavor. Oak, vanilla. Sour, even a bit smoky. Nice.
Bottle. Pours bright red. Aroma and flavor are sour, fruit, booze, berries, redcurrant, fruity, sweetness. Overall: great, I'm massive fan of redcurrant and this works.
Lambic with redcurrant blended with cherry lambic, in the newest Spelingen van het Lot at 3 Fonteinen's Lambik-O-Droom, shared with 77ships, SinH4, Filip and Johan. Off-pinkish, mousy, quite thickly edged but (in the middle) open head on a cloudy, deep wine red coloured beer with intense fuchsia hue. Aroma very reminiscent of redcurrant indeed including their 'green' aspect (I'm thinking of the green stems to which the berries are connected), green garden weeds, red wine vinegar, damp cellar, sour cherry as in old sour cherry jam, cobwebbed attic, haystack. Thick layer of redcurrant in the onset, like a portion of cooked berries, sharp and lemony sour cherry acidity enhanced by the redcurrant sourness, bitterish accent from the start (the redcurrant seeds?), medium carbonation, full and even somewhat creamy body, bready maltiness buried deeply under this thick layer of sour fruit and the obvious lambic fermentation effects (lactic acid, horseblanket Brettanomyces aspect), bit 'cellary' in the end with lots and lots of wood, cherry skin and redcurrant seed tannins, 'green' redcurrant bushes and ongoing sourness drying the mouth completely. Bone dry and quite challenging, 'green' and intense, not a fruit lambic for the faint-hearted, but the experienced lambic lover will adore this.
Stark säuerlicher, fruchtiger Beginn von Johannisbeeren. Intensiv fruchtig, minimal herb, intensiv. Die Johannisbeeren kommen im Verlauf noch deutlicher hervor, weich, sehr süffig. Langer, süffiger säuerlicher Abgang. Gut. 10/11/12/12//12
Sample from bottle at the source. Hazy red with offwhite head. Red fruit, herbal raspy elderflower and nettly notes, rusty, poopy, red berries, quite acidic, earthy low tones of horsey funky truffle. Light sweet and moderate bitter and over medium sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.
