This series has been running long enough that black lung has re-emerged in Australian coal workers, having been a distant memory when the series was new. Hilarious, eh Black with an inch of mid tan head. Aroma is not all that forthright and mainly whisky. There’s some mocha, earth, vanilla and bread too. Not much smoke. Silky texture, medium to low carbonation. Sweet with bitterness and a little alcohol creeping up nicely towards the end. Bready, berries, cream, mocha, vanilla, moderate roasted flavours. There’s a breathy lightness to the palate that I like but wonder a little whether it’s stouty enough. My second favourite of the series (after IV) so far.
