zerogravity brewing is a project launched by the International Centre for Brewing Science at the University of Nottingham in 2016 and involves a team of three students producing a specialty beer in collaboration with Castle Rock Brewery. An ode to the Reinheitsgebot and its 500th year, Alternate Universe, an Altbier, takes a forgotten beer style steeped in tradition and history and gives it a modern twist. Chestnut in colour with strong roasted malt and caramel notes supported by the subtlety of Bavarian hops give a beer that is truly out of this world.
