Bottle from BevMo Santa Rosa. DArk, clear amber, one finger creamy head. Aroma is pretty weak, mostly malts. Taste picks up the caramel malts a bit, Irish red comes to mind. A little savory, peppery hoppy finish. Seems thin though. The more I drink it though, the better it gets.
30th May 2015: live rating of a bomber with a beef curry. Poured three times into a La Chouffe tulip glass. Hazy deep amber pour, lightly tanned head. Hop front to the brew however the malty molasses almost balance out the bittering hoppiness, but not quite. Bitter and semi-sweet flavours battle it out in the mouth, I liked it: not the right beer to have with a curry but a very pleasant beer all the same.
