Gravicask, took some time to fill my one-third pint glass, American bar, GBBF 2013. Patchy surface. Declining tan-coloured head. Grainy with a vanilla touch to the nose. Dark fruits, coffee, vanilla and bourbon flavours. Strong bittersweet ending. Velvety in the mouth. Delicious slow sipper with warming alcohol. Among my best at the festival (London Olympia 14.08.2013).
Cask at GBBF. Sweet nose of vanilla, oak, cream. Black, very shiny, with lace. flavors of vanilla, oak, chocolate, alcohol heat. Tasty and sweet, a bit thin.
Pitch black color. Massive bourbon nose with some oak, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Moderately sweet, alcohol is well hidden, lots of bourbon, plums and dark chocolate. Very rounded. Plums really shine in te mouth. Lingering bourbon finish. Alcohol warms you at the end. Wow.
Gravity @ gbbf, small sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of bourbon, biscuit, roast, chocolate, coffee. Thick roasty. Medium sweet, bit bitter. Nicely balanced, good complexity.
