Bottle courtesy of Atom. Sweet fruity chocolate and barley malt aroma. Clear chestnut with a small off-white head. Sweet raisin and barley malt, oaky, boozy flavor. Full body.
Bottle. Apple, orange, and chocolate malt aroma. Medium brown with small head. Sweet caramel malt and light alcohol aroma. Lighter body. Not bad but not very complex.
copper brown ... thin tan head ... sweet yeasty dark caramel suger nose ... dark malts ... little licorice ... soft yeasty ... quite sweet ... toffee malts ... ok but not great
12oz bottle shared by csbosox. Gentle pour produces no head. Color is a dark but clear cola-brown. Aroma is very leafy and all in my face. Light Belgian sweetness but absolutely not sweet a sweet and alcoholic Quad made by so many other American producers. That leafy, herbal character annoys me though. Flavor is dry, which is good and only lightly leafy (which is good as well). The flavor is well constructed, no alcoholic burn, and a nice light prune in the finish. Need to reduce the leafy/herbal character in the nose.
Bottle at Jimmack’s epic invitational. Pours clear dark brown. Nose and taste of caramel malts, nuts and toffee. Clean brew.
