500 ml on tap at The Pub, Funchal. Black colour, moderate beige head. Moderately roasty aroma and flavour, not very sweet, hints of coffee and dark chocolate, fairly smooth and nice to drink.
Bottle shared by a friend, BB 06/17, 15 cl sample. Dark color, medium frothy head. Roasty, sugary, rye bread. Liquid rye bread in taste, sugary sweetness. Basicly what you expect from an oldschool stout from warmer areas.
Tónica, azaz barna sör! Milyen jól is esik, amikor az ember egy tonikkal próbálja leöblíteni a nagy meleget.
0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Love these pull-of caps! This is a deep clear brown one with a small lightly bubbly and sidesticking brown-ish top. Smells both yeasty and fruity. Some earthy nuts, hints of chocolate, chocolate paper and nuts. Not horrible, not directly pleasant. It's right below average on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is light oily. It's quite dry. Really low on the sweetness. Traces of potatoes, something slightly burned, hints of chocolate paper. Tastes a bit "old" perhaps even though this is not a especially old bottle. 09.01.2013
