@ BXLfest 2017.

Pierre Tilquin’s tribute to his ’familier’ Sebastien Jadot, known as sebletitje here, and the latter’s 10,000th rating on this very site; blend of half Oude Quetsche and half Oude Mre. Enjoyed in the company of sebletitje himself at BXL Beerfest, cheers Sebastien! Moussy, irregular, off-pinkish head, quickly dissolving in the middle, over a cloudy-murky ’brownish dirty’ purplish beer with dark pink tinge. Aroma of sour brambleberries, unripe plums, plum skin, stale sweat, wet leather, berry seeds, unsugared yoghurt, old raspberry vinegar, sourdough, lemon zest. Crisp, sour onset, puckering and lemony, with lots and lots of stonefruit (plum) wryness and wild berry sourness, presumably reflecting the Quetsche and the Mre respectively but tightly interwoven with each other, soft lambrusco-like fizz, cereally and bready basis underneath the ’wave’ of sour and wry fruit with a yoghurty lactic dryness throughout; very dry ending, estery, Bretty hayish and leathery, ongoing sourness, tannin-rich due to fruit seeds and skins in combination with the wood. A blend of two brilliant fruit lambics - there was no way this could go wrong, though I suspect longer conditioning could create something truly epic here. Perhaps sebletitje should try and convince Tilquin to bottle this...?

Big cheers to Sebletitje! Thank you for sharing RB crew! Sampled draft @ BXLBeerFest 2017. Bright red fruit appearance with no head. Blend is 50/50 but it seemed to me like Mûre dominated a bit. Nose is basic vinegar acidic sour berries, puckering oak. Taste is straightforward acidic vinegar red berries, hugely puckering, lemon… Very nice,… it lacks some carbonation feels a bit watery, a bottle version would totally rock but that isn’t going to happen. Still really nice beer.
