Bottle from The Beerseeker box. Clear, deep ruby with brief beige head. Loads of charcuteries, smoked ham, malty sweetness, caramel. Like perfect sugared piece of bacon. Great stuff!

From bottle @ Bierfestival Albergen. Copper color. Dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet, alcoholic vinous flavor with dried fruit. Full bodied. Sticky but nice.

Bottle. Color: Clear copper, very thin off-white head. Aroma: Caramel, toffee, smoke, bacon. Taste: Sweet, caramel, toffee, notes of dark dried fruit and raisins, combined with a decent amount of smoke and notes of smoked meat. Over medium body, below average carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Herbal notes. Nice at first sip, but getting a bit cloying after that.

0.33 l bottle from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl', best before December 2022, cellared for over one-and-a-half years. Clear, deep ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit smoky aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, cherries and smoked eel. Very sweet, malty, gently fruity and just slightly smoky taste of molasses, raisins, prunes, cherries, some caramel and a touch of smoked eel, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, gently warming and a bit smoky finish. Almost full-bodied, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Yes, a bit one-dimensional and monotonous, but at the same time a very pleasant and well-balanced - even if a bit too sweet maybe - sipper.

Bottle, courtesy of Sinh4. Pours dense amber. Aroma is bacon over barley wine, as advertised. Body is heavy, sweet and dense. Not much smoke left. Diabetes though. Dense toasted malts. Very good!

Oooh, this is lovely. Syrupy sweet, thick, soft, rich and very meaty. Good dose of smokyness, very smooth and mellow barleywine. Like drinking very chewy cough syrup inside of the fire. Bonus for just being so incredibly smooth and flavorful.
