From a bottle at Quintessence. Clear yellow pour with a fleeting white head. Nice malt and watermelon bouquet. Peach purée and citrus give way to sweeter malts and grains. Nice barrel characteristics with pleasant sour funk in the finish. Really good body and mouthfeel.

18/IV/22 - 75cl bottle @ Cantillon Quintessence (Brussels), BB: n/a (2022-371)

Cloudy orange blond beer, practically no head. Aroma: very chemical, weird, rather unpleasant, plastic floor cover, mouldy, clay, more chemical notes, solvent. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: gentle acidity, lots of overripe banana, pretty bitter, some tannins, fruity touch, a bit oxidized. Aftertaste: dry, bitter, hoppy, herbal bitterness, earthy, very acidic, fruity notes, orange peel, funky, barn yard, very average.

Bottle @ Quintessence 2018. Pours hazy golden with a medium white head. Notes of classic old cantillon funk, large minerality, stone fruits, citrus, lightly damp basement mouldy, very dry finish. Very nice! Happy to finally try this

At Quintessence 2018. Light hazy golden orange color with off white head. Funky yeasty aroma, herbal, floral, spicy, tart stone fruity. Sweet and acidic taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Quintessence, for rating #3000, yay! Almost clear golden. Apricot, peel, yoghurt, funk, rubber. Medium, fizzy, complex and fruity, almost a fou foune - but they didn't even put fruit in it! Perfect sourness, extremely drinkable at the same time. Low vinegar. Great!

Sample at Quintessence 2018. Almost clear, dark golden. Loads of funky barnyard, bright citrus, stone fruit. Lots of minerality and wet hay. Absolutely delicious.

Bouteille @ Quintessence 2018.

Sampled at Quintessence 2018. Hazy golden pour with a white head. Tons of mineral funk, barnyard funk, stone fruit, citrus, mould. Surprisingly dry, champagne-like. A pleasure to dink. --- Beer merged from original tick of Gueuze +2+3+4 (2011) on 03 May 2018 at 15:01 - Score: . Original review text: wow, I did not expect this to be so good
