4/VIII/18 - 33cl bottle from ... I don't remember, have been holding on to this one for quite a while now, shared @ home - BB: I/2022 (2018-952)
Clear amber to red brown beer, big irregular thick beige head, very stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of vanilla, dried fruits, raisins, alcohol, wood notes, bit peppery, some orange peel, bit oxidized, dates, caramel, molasses, bit smoky. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: alcohol up front, caramel, some vanilla, little bitter, malty, hoppy touch, more vanilla, some chocolate. Aftertaste: orange peel, bit oxidized, sweet, caramel, sugary, chocolate notes, alcohol, little bitter, wood notes, little smoky, vanilla. Nice one!
Bouteille 33cl, batch 11, BB 12/2019.
Moderat bitter, nett. 11/11/10/9/9/10
Bottle at a Tasting. A clear orange brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of riped fruits, wood, glue, some bourbon. Taste strong riped fruits, caramel, wood, boozy.
Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', bottled in December 2016. Slightly hazy, dark amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit boozy aroma of molasses, caramel, some raisins and a touch of green apples. Quite sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes, vanilla and some green apples, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, but typically green apple BA.
Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 01/22, 33 cl sample. Almost clear copper color, medium frothy head. Aroma of lots of raisin, definite port wine and some maltiness from the barley wine. Tannine bitterness and raisin sweetness in taste, lots of port coming through. Carried by a firm malty barley wine body. Its exactly what it says it is, a big barley wine on a port barrel. I like it.
33cl Bottle.
Dark coppery, color, off-white head with short to medium duration. Aroma has notes of burnt caramel, light dry fruits and Brandy notes. Flavor with a high presence of alcohol, caramel, toasted malts. Warm, dense and alcoholic final.
Bottle. Red amber, golden head. Paper and strong phenol nose, port after that. Raisin mush, brandy, vanilla oil, dry trester schnapps. Medium body. Old wood finish. Strange, hate the aroma, but the flavor is great.
Bottle. Ruby color with beige head. Aroma is prunes, raisins, phenolic, schnapspraline, port, getting more and more gluey over time. Taste is raisins, malty, prunes, schnapspraline. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation, warming finish. Excellent, but only if you don't smell it for too long.
