500ml bottle. Poured a hazy medium amber with a fizzy, short-lived white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet, with a light, very slightly watery, light fruity, light pepper spice, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
Cask at Southampton Arms. Amber coloured, maybe a little bit red, with off white head of very small bubbles. Aroma is stinky socks and a bit of hoppy bitterness, bit non-descript. Bit of bready malts too. Taste is biscuit malt, bit of a bitter finish. Nothing special for me. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dr Hexters Healer on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Shared 500ml bottle on 20th Aug 2016. Amber bodied, off-white crown. Malts lead the way in both the nose and taste, caramel like sweetness rules the aroma and flavours: my sweet tooth liking the light malty molasses overpowering the hop content.
bottle at home ... copper thin white head ... soft fruit malt nose ... bitter hop ... big hop ....little pine ... little soapy
