Sampled from 0.65 l bottle, shared by kermis at Not THT, thanks! Hazy, dark reddish brown with a beige head. Sweetish, malty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, vanilla, honey, nuts and some oak. Sweet, malty and a little fruity taste of caramel, honey, lots of vanilla, nuts and some oak, followed by a rather long, slightly bitter, moderately warming-alcoholic finish. Full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very good!

Bomber received in trade. Thank you rfraga7! Pours hazy reddish brown with a thin offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet and malty with caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, toasted coconut, charred wood, chocolate fudge, alcohol and hints of sassafras and sweet rye bread. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and malty with caramel, toffee, charred wood, toasted coconut, bourbon, sassafras, black pepper corns, sweet dark bread, raisins, prunes, vanilla fudge and hints of dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is soft, velvety, slightly boozy, very tiny astringent and near full bodied. Finish is sweet and malty with caramel, toffee, charred wood, toasted coconut, sweet rye bread, vanilla fudge, cocoa powder and hints of sassafras. Luxurious and tasty barrel aged barley wine.

Very dark plum color. Almost flat and the cap was insanely rusted! Smells very tannic almost like a tawny port. Lots of grapes and fruity notes. No bitterness on the nose. Taste is pretty darn good. Fruity, lots of esters and cloves and honey. This is the sweetest barley wine I’ve ever had. Bourbon notes are subdued with a hint of vanilla.
