Säuerlich malziger Antrunk, intensiv, angenehm hopfig, kurz brennend. Vollmundig, trotz der starken Malzigkeit süffig. Konstant säuerlich, wenig bitter werdend. Weinnoten, hopfig, Kirsche. 10/11/12/12/10/12
75 cl bottle shared @ Pikkulintu. Vintage 2007. Black color, brown head. Light sour aroma with roasted malt and honey. Nutty, salty flavor, roasted malt, soy sauce and licorice. Cold coffee in the finish.
750 ml bottle stored for 15 months prior to serving. Deep dark maroon with medium beige head that settles to a thin layer and nice lacing. Dark chocolate aroma with berries and light spice, possibly cinnamon. Flavor begins with sweet chocolate with a bitter cocoa edge, dark fruit, and vanilla. Nicely complex. Great body, exactly as expected for a winter brew. Worth seeking out. Laying it down for a season mellows it quite a bit.
Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Black with small pale brown head. Rich coffee aroma where the honey is surprisingly evident. Sweet and grainy with full body. Thick with licorice, coffee and chocolate. Finishes with salty fudge, tar and a walth of warming alcohol. Potent, compact and warming - a good winter beer.
Bottle @ thewolf-and-his-flock-of-sheep tasting session. Dark color, short brown lacing. Aroma of chocolat, some hop. Quite bitter taste, very malty. Good balance, good stuff.
(75 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg)BB 1/12-07On May 21, 2008Black color, big brown head. Sweet, hoppy, caramel, licorice, roasted scent. Also alcohol. Smooth, sweet, subtle licorice, rosated taste. Roasted and coffee aftertaste. Very smooth and nice mouthfeel. Some chocolate, also a bit spicy alcohol bitterness. Low to medium hop bitterness.
Bottle 75cl. Dark black color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, molasses, light coffee, moderate to heavy honey. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy - syrupy, carbonation is soft.It is to much honey for me for a bottle but a small 5 or 10cl glas is very nice. (020408)
Bottled. Pitch black colour with thick and creamy brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, chocolate, coffee and some mild notes of smoked wood and alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same, along with vanillaish hints. The alcohol is quite strong in the flavour.
