Draft at Smith Street Taps, Singapore. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coconut, light alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, liqouirce bitter with a smooth, rich, roasty, light boozy, aromatic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Bottle. Very dark brown with a dense tan head that laces extravagantly. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, petrichor, naughty funk, lemons. Hello. Silky, lowish carbonation. Sweet but the vanilla and some bitterness as much as roasted flavours rein it in. The truffles return in the aftertaste, with the lemon - more than the earthy and funky notes - to the fore. There's no booming bass note, but this is a fine and [family website] beer.
