Dark pour with a cery thin beige head. Toffee, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, honey, sweet nuts, chocolate. Smooth texture, low carbonation.
Pale blond with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a little vinegar acidity. The lemon is recognisable but the other weird ingredients don't come through. It's rather tart.
Clear golden colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a sharp acidic funk. Floral, herbal and tart.
Pale yellow colour with massive head that fizzes out quickly. Aroma and flavour have intense sticking plaster, bretty iodine notes. Later some subtle jam sweetness comes through too. Complex and layered.
Walnuts, leather, prunes, cacao, hazelnuts, oats, raw cacao, a little vanilla. Very accomplished stout. This is a great example of a very clean American take on a classic Stout without using bucketloads of adjuncts. Exactly the kind of beer which I want to drink in the winter, ideally with a logged fire. Excellent drinkability and clean profile. Incredible balance. Silky smooth. Exceptionally done. Bottle from Beerdome in the Netherlands. Drunk on 12/11/2020.
