Pours slighlty hazed blonde. Medium large, stable white creamy head. Scent is very fruity, delivering sweet expectations. Grapefruit comes to mind, as well as candy (hard candy, mlike those necklaces ) with a slight green, herbal, earthy touch giving it a more natural impression than the previous might sound. Taste is medium bitter, very sweet, candy-like fruitytness ( again, the necklaces, grapefruit, ...) medium long to long lasting finish of bitterness. Fairly creamy body. Relatively exhausting (compared to other IPA's) but still very drinkable for a NA, not tóó cloying. Different than other NA's in it's hoppyness, certainly this is a big plus for the beer. All and all, very pleased to have tried this one !

500 ml bottle, batch #1713, from Coop Xtra, Sauda. ABV is 4.5%, IBU 20. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate to low white head. Aroma of coriander and various Christmas spices, including anise or liquorice. Also some citrussy / wheaty notes. Citrussy / wheaty flavour, said spices are there, but in moderate amounts. A nice and unusual Christmas brew, suitable to accompany the season’s fish dishes.

Jet black. Blue grape, blue plum, raisin, ruby port, wood. Sweet-sour grape, plum, dark fudge, some blackberry. Peppery hops, dried fruits, boozy brandy, sherry & wet wood effect. Oily texture, average carbonation. Quite good, bit too young perhaps.

Dark brown, stable head. Caramel, dried banana, red apple, raisin, clove. Sweetish raisin, bitter spices & herbs, caramel malt base. Herbal hops, very spicy, oddly bitter. Syrupy texture. Not bad but lacks some structure and, well, sourness.

General impression: it has lots of spices, but is still well balanced, and manages to cover up the lack of alcohol. In general, the spices battle each other, and they are are christmas-like - at least in combination. So overall, it is impressive that they have managed to create this without proper fermentation and alcohol. But still, it is a bit more on spiecy side like a gløgg, than a Christmas beer.

Bottle from autumn 2020 drunk nov 2020; and another bottke drunk dec 2023 that gave same impression (bf=14.08.24). Cinnemon and coreander seeds are toned down a bit, leaving the stage to ginger, cardamum, and cloves. Interestingly, it had a robust 'infection ring' inside the bottle neck. It does not appear to be infected, so i suspect som spices in the bottle. Besides, there were lots of dregs in the bottle. So they may add some spices dry to the bottles or just before bottling?
