The brown one in this new Walloon microbrewery's range, sampled at ZBF in Leuven. Thick and moussy, yellowish pale beige head, opening in the middle over a hazy mahogany-caramel brown beer. Aroma of caramel candy, coffee grounds, ripe apple, stewed pear, coriander seed, straw, banana, tea bags. Sweet onset with sourish accent, banana ester but not overdone, hints of ripe pear and blue plum, medium carbonated, rounded and fluffy mouthfeel. Caramelly malt sweet middle with lingering fruity esters and upcoming spicy phenols but not overly 'dirty', bready with a toasted bitter edge in the end, vaguely coffee-ish even, 'adorned' with soapy coriander seed and ending with a herbal, tea-ish hop bitterishness and some warming alcohol. New Belgian dubbels often seem to be influenced by the hop forward movement - when well done, they are often way less sweet than they used to be in the previous century. This is one such example, though caramelly and fruity sweetness still dominate and other than the toasty bittering edge, this is quite an ordinary and not very remarkable ale. Technically decent enough though, and in that sense inviting to learn more about this guy's range.

Thanks for sharing! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2017. Hazy orange, almost zero head. Nose is chemical, paint, insecticide & popcorn. Taste is awful spoiled grain, chemical, low butter, insecticide, milky grain,… Really not a fan but people believed enough in this guy to crowdfund his 200 litter installation brewery. Go figure.
