Pink, small head, going fast over deep carmine to cardinal red beer. Chalk, ink, cherry, cherrystems... but fruit? Maybe smelling as a very strong reduction of cherries. Sour cherry, cherry reduction (again), cherry sauce, hints at acids, tart. Intense, but definitely natural smelling, nowhere artificial or sugared. Acidthinning, fruit-filled, slick. Sharp-ish, but very pleasing; utterly convincing kriek.
Good, slightly yellowish tinted white head over copperish golden beer. Dried apricot on lambic, apricot liqueur, faint fresh green herbs. Again dried apricot, faint caramelized fruit, some uindentifyable light-herbal liqueur, bread with inclusions, very slightly tartness. Slighly oily, feels spritzy despite rather dead looks, alcoholwarmth (for a 6.7% beer!). Yet another excellent TSj!
Dark clear amber, small white head. Very grapey and juicy. Massive barrel, oak, walnut, we have the delight of a side glass of vin jaune which really helps to find the notes. Medium to quite sour. Medium body, soft carb.
Bottle shared next to some vin jaune. Clear amber with small white head. Lactic sourness, walnuts, dried red fruits, soft vanilla, apricot, peaches. Medium sour and sweet. Full bodied. Really nice, there's some of the wine but it's still very much it's own thing.
Thanks Maakun! Near clear golden orange with an off white head. Aroma is vinous, oxidized Vin Jaune notes, tart grapes, soft funk and oak. Flavour is moderate sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Excellent.
0,75l bottle at home. Bottled 29.07.2017. amber hazy color, almost no head. smells stone fruits, plums, peaches, apricots, bit sulphuric at first, tannins, subtle grape notes, bit jammy, berry notes. very nice smell. medium body, subtle carbonation. tastes of stone fruits, apricots, light plums, light peaches, grassy, earthy, bit jammy, some citrus, bit acidic, hints of tannins. finishes rather dry and lightly sour with notes of stone fruits, citrus and some grassy notes. good stuff, love the stone fruit notes, a bit light on the carbonation and could use a tad more funk, but this is very nice. not so much grapes left.
Taster at gfs, courtesy of Sander, big thanks. redish / amber hazy color, small white head. smells spices, bit leathery, minerals, horse radish, oak, citric, light tannins. full body, soft carbonation. tastes tannins, spices, leathery, some horse radish, bit joghurty, some lactic notes. finishes lightly dry and medium sour with notes of tannins, joghurt and lactic sourness. hmm, expected a bit more from this, heavy on the lactic / joghurt notes, wine notes more noticeable through tannins then any kind of grape notes. Need to revisit, but right now a bit underwhelmed
Very bright, deep red colour. It's got fresh and fruity cherry. In the finish it gets drier and a bit woody.
Pours unclear, dark purplered to amber. Small white head. Scent is full, grape dryness, tannines. Mild herbal notes from the red grapes. Taste is full, tart, funky, mild oak, fruity. Very balanced - but as always with TS, I don't understand the amazing words people use for the beer. It's 'just' very good to me.
Bottle thanks to Mark. Pours a cloudy dark ruby with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is grape must, oak, funk, barnyard. Slick body, grape, berry, funk, oak, nice tartness, enjoyed this.
