Bottle @ BXLBeerFest'23. Merci Vincent.
Pours dark, cloudy amber to brown. Small to no white head. Scent is robust, heavy 'feel' to it. Bit faded chocolate, amber malts. Taste is sharp, tart, intense on body and intensity, very malty backbone. Not overly caramelly - which I was afraid for. instead this is a full, tasty, malty beer with a long finish, and another proof Lambiekfabriek is a rising star !
--Bottled at PBF XIII. -- Hazy bright copper colour, small head. Faint red currant aroma. Tart with medium body and rounded. Tart red currant, no funk, mild citric acid. Low bitterness
--Bottled at PBF XIII. -- Almost clear golden, small head. Tart vinous nose. Grape sweetness countered by lambic tartness. Medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Vinous grapes on tart fruity malt, not a lot of funk, but lots of of alcohol.
19th June 2023, Shrewsbury Monthly Beer Swap in Chez Sophie. Five guys enjoying life taking bollox. Cork and caged 75cl bottle, 2020 vintage. Misty red/amber body, wispy white top. Sour Puss with a blackberry nose and flavour, other berries were damaged in brewing this I suspect.
9 April 2023. At In de Verzekering Tegen de Grote Dorst. Shared with the lovely Anke!
A: clear red, no head.
A: cherry juice & skin, redcurrant, yoghurt.
T: sour cherry, bitter redcurrant skin, lactic acid.
F: tart cherry, bitter & dry cherry stone, some bread, wheat.
P: medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation.
Easy-going, bitterish cherry Lambic. Cherries are not even key here, but not bad.
Light brown colour with lasting thin head and light haze. Aroma is very grainy and more like a young lambic than an old gueuze. Taste has a pleasant sweet/sharp mix. Leans towards Vlaams Bruin but less harsh and vinegary. Nice oakiness. Full bodied.
