Pours a very dark reddish purple, nicely viscous. Smells sweet and lightly tart, lots of currant. Smooth, pretty thick, very boozy. I wonder what the ABV is? Fairly heavy sweet, but the tart from the fruit compensates. Loads of fruit, don't get licorice.
Taster showing cranberry pink.
The nose shows intense notes of ripe cranberries and toasted almonds in perfect balance.
The palate is light bodied. Balanced sweetness with a moderate acidic edge balanced out by almonds to rein in the tartness.
Deep dark red, looks thick yet light. Loads of fruit in the smell, currants mostly, some sweet blackberry, cherry, bit sweet. Sticky, bit boozy, soft. Taste is highly sweet at first, but dries up a bit. Clear currants, cherries, blackberries. Intense.
Dark amber, some slight sediment. Sweet smell, quite some honey still, light tart berry. Real thick body, sticky, some light alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet at first, but a great tartness quickly lightens that. Super intense cranberry, some oaky tannins. The flavour intensity is magnificent, just a shame that it's still so very sweet. Maybe just a tad too intense for me.
Bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a copper gold with no head. The aroma is strong honey, spice, apple skin. Slick body, apple, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.
