Half-pint, cask ale as Coppy Lane at Flying Horse Hotel. Black in the glass, low beige head, spotty lacing. Prominent roasted dark malty nose. Taste of dark bread and liquorice followed by roasted malt bitterness to the finish. Likable. (Rochdale 03.05.2018).
Cask at the Stables, Beamish Hall. Dark brown-black reddish tinged colour, beige foam head leaving lacing and aroma of roasted malt. Taste is dark malty, sweet toffee, milk chocolate, caramel, with roast, nutty earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Taste is malt & grain with a tart lemony citrus sour edge and some spicy bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry light bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
