First and foremost, hopscotch you are the MAN... Bottle. Poured a pinkish/red color. The nose is dominated by maraschino cherries with just a fluttering of honey. This is one dangerous bastard. So smooth and refreshing with sweet honey, bourbon, and maraschino cherry flavors. Outstanding........

2007 vintage. Poured a murky, but mud brown. Big raspberry nose. A confusing taste with raspberry, cognac, chocolate, and toffee. flavors. Some oxidation, with tons of sediment. Not really my thing...
Re-rate: my original rating of 3.2 was way off. Dark guardian was kind enough to share the new release. Tons of raspberry notes with milk chocolate undertones. Just fantastic....

2010 bottle thanks to Sean. Is this really an ole ale?? I’m kinda thinkin’ barley wine.. Pour is a viscous almost watery butt mud brown. The nose is chocked full of bourbon, vanilla, oak, and sweet carmel malt. The taste follows suit with pleasant dark fruit flavors mixed in. This version is 13.5%, achie machie......

(side note, this was the first batch in small bottle format) SHOW STOPPER, NUMBER 1 STUNNER, BEST BEER OF THE NIGHT!! Bottle courtesy of the man, the myth, the legend - hopscotch. The pour was a black oily mess a la the Deepwater Horizon drilling catastrophe. It left that infamous Dark Lord oily sheen when swirled about in a proper snifter. For me, this stout was very reminiscent of Stormaktsporter. Thick and chewy with wonderful roasted malt, fudge, and chocolate notes. Simply awesome....

(side note, this was the first batch in small bottle format) Bottle compliments of hopscotch (this kid is out of control with his generosity). I was the only one of the three who preferred the regular version to the BA version. The same oily black pour, which left that world famous Dark Lord oily sheen on the glass. The nose was very similar to the regular version. The mellow bourbon flavors muted the deep fudge, roasted malt, and chocolate flavors creating what some would say (not me) a more balanced stout. A world class stout by Mikkeller....

Bottle imbibed at Mikkeller Bar. Jet black pour with a mocha head. Vinous aromas. The body is a little thinner in this version. Rich dark malts, chocolate, oak, vanilla, and generous amounts of red wine notes....
