Draft glass @ Chez Moeder Lambiek Fontainas. Far dirtier than expected, sour acidic apple, dirty old lemon, lots of dirty old grain in the back, almost harsh finish but also lots of fruitiness, white grape, extreme but also lots of fun.

330 ml. draft @ Joran. Darker golden. Nose is low dirty very dry rustic dried out apples, barn & hay. Super dry, dried out apples, bit dirty , carbonation a soft drink left open, somehow with some juiciness after the long dry finish, very easy to drink, great.

Special 18 months BA version – regular spends 13 months in the barrel. Single Cask Whiskey. Draft @ Jordan. Color is approaching white wine golden. Nose is on the sweet cide with sugar nearing oak vanilla & sweeter apples. Taste is rather sweet in a pleasant way pronounced vanilla, sweeter oak, faint yoghurt, dash of candy, cookie, sweet apple, very pleasant.

The first cidrothèque in Belgium? Or I just haven’t been paying must attention. Anyway you need to come specially for this place since it isn’t anywhere you would causally wind up in Brussels if you don’t live there. 6 + 1 Ciders / Perry’s on tap from Basque, UK & Luxemburg. I tried two and they were great. Service & prices were good. Place looks gorgeous bright white with wood, beautiful, terrace upfront & back (back is mini garden more or less). Solid & interesting varies selection of Ciders & Perry’s for sale to go or consume there (some of it is chilled as well). Including one ice cider (but not a great one) as well as two Antidoot Cider’s and good selection of varieties. Food is limited to specific hours, terrine & cakes lagerly. Lovely.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 04/2022. Dark orange, huge white head. Smell is BE esters, orange peel sweet, spice & soap. Fizzy body, soapy orange, spice, sweet soapy orange, herb, low candy, soapy herb. Quite meh but to style for a meh Belgian styled beer. On point but not very exciting.

330 ml. clear bottle. Very pale corn looking golden. “Tropical” lager with citrus extract & corn. Recommended serving temperature is 3 °C. Nose is all sweet vegetable cooking oil & corn. Soft carbonation, poor industrial lager with oil, citrus is vague like some diluted washing liquid, starch & some weird white part of citrus & chemical low bitterness in the back. Garbage but could be worse I suppose.

750 ml. bottle @ brewery not too long after the release. Basic lambic with some lemon with more pronounce oak, slightly more malty than usual, smoke is lower than hoped with some Lapsang Souchong in the end but in pretty good balance, some very low sweetness, more smoke towards end of the bottle, pretty good.
