This is actually a pretty nice small town brewpub. There’s a decent and relaxed outside terrace with some sheltered seating and some more open to the sun. As it was a reasonably decent (by NL standards) summer’s day we sat outside along with everybody else who visited on the Sunday afternoon. Service was great. Friendly, quick enough and knowledgeable about the beers. When you step inside it’s far from what you expect sitting outside. Of the two rooms, the one at the front is totally eclectic with messy but comfy sofas and armchairs, various other seating, artwork and plants. Stepping into the long back room it appears at first almost like a nightclub. At least what I imagine a nightclub would look like as I’m to old for that kind of BS. Closer inspection though shows around 20 taps behind the bar and a large glass fronted brewing are opposite with a bunch more tables and chairs at the back. When I visited only 8 of the taps were hooked up with their own beers, though another 8 would be hooked up very soon as they had set up the additional cooling needed. The selection of their own beers is decent and varied from a golden ale to a 15% barley wine (their one year anniversary beer). Overall I was was pretty impressed with this place and will certainly return when I’m next in the area.
Burgers, one tap and a few cans and bottles on the ground floor. Upper two floors are only open from 16:00 and have 12 more taps. Very unique venue with a very steep staircase. Be careful! Most taps were by Mikkeller with a couple of imports too. Veggie burger was very nice!
Located very close to the station. Very modern bar maybe touch too much with high tables and chairs as well as longer sitting area with cushions, completely closed off smoking area & small courtyard with sliding doors. Excellent & very knowledgeable service. Untappd menu & screens, projector showing football with no sound. Selection is straight-up murder 25 taps of Zagovar, Stiegbergets, Omnipollo, Verdant, Bruery etc. Maybe tad hop heavy but there is also pils, sour, RIS and yes even tripel, everything I had was amazing condtion, fridge withhype stouts goin up to Eclipse, Seven Island but also some 3 Fonteinen, Cantillon. Very good prices for taps. Crowlers of everything available once again at very solid prices. The selection is out of bounds of Belgium, this place is just killing it at a great price point if only it was a tad closer by but you cannot have everything. Total hype.
A nice bottle/can shop in the best spot of the city Groningen (Folkingestraat). The selection is on 1 wall, a table and a fridge. Though finding your beers might be a challenge as the sorting is not the most intuitive. This is also part of the fun, suddenly finding what you were looking for in a place you did not expect.
Other than some local beers all beers are worth buying.
